WEDDING BANQUET HALL
The Realvizart studio team developed the interior design of the wedding banquet hall in the Leningrad Youth Palace in St. Petersburg.
The 136 m2 area has one light front on the short side. The ceiling height to the plates is 5 m, the beams and ventilation ducts are located at 4.5 m and below. The customer had a lot of good quality lumber, which was supposed to be used in the project.
During the development of the design project, 3D visualizations of the interior were created, which were used to reconcile the concept with investors and owners.
CONSTRUCTIVE DECISIONS
Sewing the ceiling with a solid level was impossible because of the proportions of the room - the ceiling would visually "crush" the guests of the hall. It was decided to create a structure inside the hall that will visually block the existing ceiling and communications, but retain the feeling of air and space. In the process of finding the best solution, the theme "Forest" appeared, which was actively supported by the view from the window and entered into a dialogue with the environment, thereby expanding the space. The architect of the project developed a system of suspended ceiling sections and self-supporting tree trunks with branches. The sections have partial filling creating the effect of lush tree crowns.
Next to the window there was a need to change the shape and nature of the ceiling due to the heavily lowered load-bearing beam with the filling of the aperture with brick. It was decided to integrate the available data on Wednesday. There was a zone "Loft" with all the attributes of this style. Both zones are visually and constructively interconnected. The space also combines a picture of the floor tile, which supports the character of the ceiling.
REALIZATION OF THE PROJECT
Several lighting scenarios were developed for the hall:
- Adjustable night sky and lighting along the walls;
- Illumination of trunks of trees from below;
- Directional lighting of tables with the possibility of changing the configuration of lighting;
- Local lights in the zone «Loft»;
- Lines of diode illumination of windows and all necessary locations inside the hall.
The implementation of the project at all stages was accompanied by the author's supervision of the architect of the studio Realvizart.
